Dr Boni Mehomakulu is the CEO of the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). Under her leadership, the almost 70 year – old institution has undergone a significant transformation, gearing itself towards service relevance within the 21st century.

She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and her leadership philosophy centres around the empowerment of those entrusted in the care. Her professional career started at Sasol before joining the Department of Science and Technology (DTS) in 2003. In September, 2009 Dr Mehlomakulu took over as the Chief Executive of the SABS, South Africa’s foremost body, promoting and maintaining standards and quality.​
