Quality and Service Excellence

The promotion of quality is one of the SABS’ core functions.  In pursuit of world-class service excellence, it is our policy to be accredited at least nationally and, where relevant, internationally, against the provisions of international standards and guides applicable to the services we offer.

Each conformity assessment process requires a different set of accreditation requirements. Our third party recognition allows you, as the recipient of SABS services, to be confident that the services concerned are being properly performed to international standards.

In this section we outline the official records of our accreditations both nationally and internationally – in short, proof that we are accredited to certify you!

Third Party Recognition

Certification Services

Third party recognition of management system certification services, such as Quality, Environment and Food Safety Management Systems Certification services, can only be obtained by means of accreditation to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021 "conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems” or ISO/IEC 17021 Conformity assessment.

Consignment Inspection Services

Third party recognition of inspection services by means of accreditation to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020, "General criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection".

Calibration and Testing Services

Third party recognition of reliability of test and calibration results by means of accreditation to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories".
