Guy Harris, a Social Entrepreneur, is initiating an accelerator focusing on fast tracking high job growth sme's in the Kensington, Langa, Observatory and Pinelands area of Cape Town. He is also the Entrepreneurship Officer at the SA Institute for Entrepreneurship.

He was a founding director of Greybeard Business Catalysts which is involved in Growing Sustainable SME's. It focused initially on Southern Cape Entrepreneur Development and Job Creation through Harnessing Public and Private Funding and Greybeard Angel Investors. He coordinated obtaining major changes to S12J tax legislation to help make venture capital funding more cost effective. He has now moved his focus to Cape Town.

Guy is on the Board of the SA Bureau of Standards, chairs their Audit and Risk Committee and is on their Human Resources and Remuneration, Finance and Investment and Nomination Committees. He is the Chair of the City of Cape Town's Audit Committee and on the Board of Booyco Engineering. He is a project team member on Productivity SA's Work Place Change Program and Acting Chair of the Council of North-link TVET college.

Guy qualifies as a CA (SA) with Hons in 1977. He has a B.Com Hons in Financial Management and attended the AMP at UCT GSB. He has successfully completed the UK based CEDR's course on Commercial Mediation. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and SAICA.

He was a Board member of Proudly SA and a Council member of the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of SA. He was on the National Advisory Council on Innovation's Task Group, strengthening skills in Mathematics, Science and Technology. He was active in the Manufacturing Circle, on the Steering Committee of Mossel Bay Local Economic Development and the Project Leader: George Local Economic Development: PACA & BRE 2012. Guy was a member of the George and Eden District Municipality Audit Committees and George and Mossel Bay Hospitals Boards. He chaired a new tourism initiative at the Mossel Bay caves, an iconic must see heritage tourism destination on the modern human behaviour.

Guy has done independent facilitation on strategy, BBBEE, due diligence, risk management, balanced scorecard and Six Sigma. He was previously part time with Bell Equipment focussing on government, industry relations, strategic and empowerment matters. Guy was Financial Director at the South African Sugar Association, Commercial Director at Bell Equipment Limited, where he was a Board Member for 18 years,

and Managing Director of Avis Rent A Car. Prior to that he was the Managing Partner of Deloitte Consulting in Durban and was a partner in the firm for nine years. He also was seconded to Chicago for two years in the early 80's when consulting in SA had not yet developed. Guy was on the Finance Committee of the Garden Route Botanical Garden and was also a Board member of Ikageng Itireleng, a Soweto based organisation caring for 1500 Aids orphans in Child Headed Households. He was also Southern Cape Co-ordinator for the School @ Centre of the Community / Partners for Possibilities schools initiative where is still on the Advisory Board. He was on the Board of Durban Aquarium.​
